In keeping with our reputation for being the innovator of new services and products in Indonesia, we have recently introduced the process of Chip sealing. This process provides and attractive alternative to conventional asphalt mixes for lower traffic density roads and also for roads over very flexible bases and sub grades.
The process involves the spraying of a measured quantity of hot asphalt over the prepared pavement and covering with a layer of graded aggregate which is incorporated by rolling with a pneumatic tired roller. The process can be carried out as a single coat process or a double coat process where stronger seals with longer lives are required.

This process is also appropriate for the treatment of aging asphalt mix pavements, whereby the permeability, skid resistance, and durability of the old pavement can be restored. We operate a Matthews Engineering 9,000 liter asphalt sprayer, equipped with fifth wheel, heaters, and spray bar. Accurate and consistent applications of asphalt rates are assured. Aggregate is applied through cockerel boxes mounted on the rear of conventional tipper trucks. Emulsions, cutback asphalts, and polymer modified binders can also be applied. Our staff is fully trained in the design of seals, as well as the field operations, and is available to advise customers on recommended treatments.
